SWOT Analysis

Know exactly where you stand before you make the call

SWOT Analysis grounds every strength, weakness, opportunity and threat in a live, cited source — built for founders, marketers and consultants deciding on a specific move, not browsing a generic company overview.

This screenshot is one section of a much longer report

What you're looking at above is a real, relevant slice of the dashboard — not the whole result. Every run also produces a full written report, with every section, source and citation included, which you can export as a PDF at any time from your History. See a real example of that full PDF report →

This app runs on its own and already gives a decent, cited answer by itself. But it's also one of 22 single apps in the suite — chain several of them together from across different groups in a Workflow, and each step hands its findings to the next, producing a deeper result and more data than any one app alone.

Why it works this way

Grounded, not guessed

Every item in the analysis is tied to a live web source found at run time — expand any strength, weakness, opportunity or threat to see exactly where it came from. Nothing is invented.

Built around your actual decision

Tell it what you're deciding — entering a market, changing price, going head-to-head with one named rival — and the whole analysis reorients around that call instead of producing a generic company snapshot.

Three lenses on one run

The same grounded evidence, read from an Executive, an Investor, and an Operator perspective — so different stakeholders get the angle that matters to them without re-running the analysis.

Real government statistics, not AI-guessed numbers

Give it a UK region and the analysis pulls actual ONS/Nomis official statistics for that area, industry and business size — resolved by deterministic lookup against real geography, industry and size-band codes, not estimated by the model. No region given, no invented numbers either — it simply runs without that layer.

Confidence you can check, not confidence you have to trust

Every run rates its own confidence as high, medium or low based on how well-evidenced it actually is, and separately lists what it couldn't determine, what it had to assume, and where sources disagreed — instead of presenting one uniformly certain-sounding answer.

Nothing here is final: correct an assumption or resolve an ambiguity and re-run a refined pass that treats your correction as fact.

How it works

Shape what the SWOT is about

A SWOT isn't only ever generic. Use "What should this help you decide?" to anchor the whole analysis to something specific — a market entry, a pricing change, a head-to-head against one named rival, a go/no-go on a launch. The engine reads that goal and orients every strength, weakness, opportunity and threat around it, instead of producing a generic company overview.

Chain it into something bigger

Run SWOT on its own, or as one step inside a larger multi-app Workflow — e.g. Market Entry (research → PESTEL → this SWOT) or Crisis Response. Inside a chain, each step's findings are handed forward automatically, so this SWOT gets armed by what came before it, and feeds the step after it.

What to put in the boxes

Company NameRequired
The real, current trading name — not a description. Name the company itself, not the category it's in. The engine grounds its search against this exact name.
IndustryRequired
Specific beats broad. "SaaS / productivity software" finds sharper, more comparable sources than "software" or "tech".
What should this help you decide?Optional
A goal, not a description — e.g. "whether to enter the German market next quarter". Steers which facts the analysis leans on.
A little about your businessOptional
One line on who you are — e.g. "a 12-person B2B SaaS selling to UK logistics firms". Sharpens the comparison to your actual position, not a generic one.
Region / Target PersonaOptional — under "Sharpen"
Narrows sources to a geography or a named buyer type when it matters to the decision. Leave blank for a global, general-audience read.

Good to know

  • Nothing here is final — after the first run you can correct assumptions, resolve ambiguities, and re-run a refined pass that treats your corrections as fact.
  • Every strength, weakness, opportunity and threat is source-backed — expand any item to see exactly where it came from.
  • Leave the optional fields blank if you're not sure — they sharpen the result, they don't gate it.

Built-in tutorial

Every app opens with a real, built-in tutorial covering how it works, use cases and tips for getting a sharper result — shown automatically the first time, and updated periodically by the Opis team as the tool evolves. Dismiss it per app, or turn tutorials off entirely in Settings.

Delivery integrations

Export any result as PDF, Word, HTML, Markdown, or plain text, and send it directly via Email, Telegram, Slack, Discord, Zapier, Make, n8n.

Once a report is generated, translate it into any of 64 languages with high-accuracy transcreation — not literal machine translation.

The system first reads authoritative publications in the target language for this industry to calibrate tone and terminology, then renders the report to that standard. Both the original and the converted version persist — toggle or export either one, and change the target language any time.

Pricing

Included in the App Hub plan — App Hub £19.99/month unlocks this app and every other app in the suite at this tier, plus a bring-your-own-API-key option. Not a separate charge per app. No free tier.
