Competitor Finder
Find out who you're really up against — not who you assume
Describe your business and Competitor Finder grounds a live search for the companies actually competing with you, each one cited back to a real source — never an invented name or link.
This screenshot is one section of a much longer report
What you're looking at above is a real, relevant slice of the dashboard — not the whole result. Every run also produces a full written report, with every section, source and citation included, which you can export as a PDF at any time from your History. See a real example of that full PDF report →
This app runs on its own and already gives a decent, cited answer by itself. But it's also one of 22 single apps in the suite — chain several of them together from across different groups in a Workflow, and each step hands its findings to the next, producing a deeper result and more data than any one app alone.
Why it works this way
Discovery, not a guess
A short description of your business and industry is enough to surface 4-8 real competitors, each with a one-line positioning and a citation proving they exist and compete with you.
Matched to your weight class
Business Scale keeps the list realistic — a local, independent business isn't told its rival is a national chain. Discovery stays calibrated to how you actually compete.
The start of a bigger teardown
Competitor Finder opens directly into Competitive Dossier — this discovery, then a first-hand read of your site against theirs, then a map of where you're invisible against the field.
Three angles on the same field
The same grounded discovery read from a Founder, a Sales, and a Marketer perspective — so the differentiation angles you get back match who's actually going to use them.
How to stand out, calibrated to your scale
The differentiation angles it suggests are weighted against your declared Business Scale — a genuine local independent gets local-appropriate ways to stand out, not startup advice recycled from an enterprise playbook.
Every competitor is tied to a numbered, real source in the analysis — the model can't write a raw website or social link, only cite one that was actually found. The same honesty layer used across Opis App Hub also rates its own confidence and lists what it couldn't determine, rather than presenting one uniformly certain-sounding list.
How it works
Shape it to your actual weight class
Business Scale tells the engine to hunt for rivals at your level, not the biggest names in the category. A local, independent search reads very differently to an enterprise/national one — set this so the list is realistic, not aspirational.
Chain it into something bigger
Competitor Finder opens Competitive Dossier (this discovery → Website Competitor Analysis → Coverage Gap Mapper) — find out who you're really up against, then tear down your site against them and map where you're invisible.
What to put in the boxes
- BusinessRequired
- Your business name, or a short description of what you do if you don't have a fixed name yet.
- IndustryRequired
- Your market or category — specific beats broad for finding genuinely comparable rivals.
- RegionOptional
- The geographic market to search in, e.g. "UK". Leave blank for a global search.
- Business ScaleOptional — under "Sharpen"
- Startup/local / SMB/regional / Enterprise/national. Keeps discovery realistic — a local coffee shop shouldn't be told its rival is Starbucks.
Good to know
- Nothing here is final — you can correct assumptions, resolve ambiguities, and re-run a refined pass.
- Every competitor found is tied to a real cited source — never a fabricated name, website or social link.
- Leave Business Scale blank if you're not sure — the search will still favour realistic, comparable rivals.
Built-in tutorial
Every app opens with a real, built-in tutorial covering how it works, use cases and tips for getting a sharper result — shown automatically the first time, and updated periodically by the Opis team as the tool evolves. Dismiss it per app, or turn tutorials off entirely in Settings.
Delivery integrations
Export any result as PDF, Word, HTML, Markdown, or plain text, and send it directly via Email, Telegram, Slack, Discord, Zapier, Make, n8n.
Once a report is generated, translate it into any of 64 languages with high-accuracy transcreation — not literal machine translation.
The system first reads authoritative publications in the target language for this industry to calibrate tone and terminology, then renders the report to that standard. Both the original and the converted version persist — toggle or export either one, and change the target language any time.
Pricing
Included in the App Hub plan — App Hub £19.99/month unlocks this app and every other app in the suite at this tier, plus a bring-your-own-API-key option. Not a separate charge per app. No free tier.
