Competitor Analysis

A grounded head-to-head against up to three named rivals

Competitor Analysis researches your brand against up to three named competitors and produces a comparison brief focused on whichever battleground actually decides the fight — not generic positioning.

This screenshot is one section of a much longer report

What you're looking at above is a real, relevant slice of the dashboard — not the whole result. Every run also produces a full written report, with every section, source and citation included, which you can export as a PDF at any time from your History. See a real example of that full PDF report →

This app runs on its own and already gives a decent, cited answer by itself. But it's also one of 22 single apps in the suite — chain several of them together from across different groups in a Workflow, and each step hands its findings to the next, producing a deeper result and more data than any one app alone.

Why it works this way

Focused on the battleground that decides it

Declare whether the fight is on Price, Quality, Speed, Brand or Service, and the grounding hunts the specific facts that battleground turns on — pricing structures for Price, review themes and reliability for Quality, delivery times for Speed.

Real competitive density for your market

A declared region pulls real sector business-count statistics for that contested area — an actual measure of how crowded the field is, not a guess.

Three lenses on one run

The same grounded comparison read from a Marketer, a Founder, and a Sales perspective.

Your own brand is grounded in the same live search as your competitors — this is a genuine head-to-head, not a one-sided profile of the field.

How it works

Shape which fight it fights

Naming a Primary Battleground changes what the engine goes looking for — a Price fight retrieves pricing and discount structures, a Quality fight retrieves review themes and complaints. Leave it blank for a broad, general comparison instead.

Chain it into something bigger

This app runs standalone — it isn't currently a step inside one of the multi-app Workflows, but its comparison output pairs naturally with Content Generator or a Proposal if you want to turn the findings into copy afterward.

What to put in the boxes

Your BrandRequired
Your own name — it gets grounded and profiled too, so the comparison is a genuine head-to-head, not just research on the rivals.
CompetitorsRequired
Up to three names, comma or newline separated. Real, current trading names find sharper sources than descriptions.
IndustryRequired
Specific beats broad — narrows what counts as a comparable source for everyone in the comparison.
Primary BattlegroundOptional — under "Sharpen"
Price / Quality / Speed / Brand / Service. Tells the engine which facts to hunt hardest for — pricing pages for a price fight, review themes for a quality fight.
RegionOptional — under "Sharpen"
The market you compete in, e.g. "Manchester" or "UK". Also unlocks real sector business-count statistics for that area.

Good to know

  • Nothing here is final — after the first run you can correct assumptions, resolve ambiguities, and re-run a refined pass.
  • Every claim about a competitor is source-backed — expand any item to see exactly where it came from.
  • Leave the optional fields blank if you're not sure — they sharpen the result, they don't gate it.

Built-in tutorial

Every app opens with a real, built-in tutorial covering how it works, use cases and tips for getting a sharper result — shown automatically the first time, and updated periodically by the Opis team as the tool evolves. Dismiss it per app, or turn tutorials off entirely in Settings.

Delivery integrations

Export any result as PDF, Word, HTML, Markdown, or plain text, and send it directly via Email, Telegram, Slack, Discord, Zapier, Make, n8n.

Once a report is generated, translate it into any of 64 languages with high-accuracy transcreation — not literal machine translation.

The system first reads authoritative publications in the target language for this industry to calibrate tone and terminology, then renders the report to that standard. Both the original and the converted version persist — toggle or export either one, and change the target language any time.

Pricing

Included in the App Hub plan — App Hub £19.99/month unlocks this app and every other app in the suite at this tier, plus a bring-your-own-API-key option. Not a separate charge per app. No free tier.
